Walt Willy’s ‘ Pine Valley Lawyer’
Written and sung at and for Krystal’s Country Bar-B-Q AMCFCW 2010

“I’m proud to be a Pine Valley Lawyer, Practice law from the Valley to Pigeon Holler. Studied to learn the law, Give the bad guys a wake up call and I just stand around in Erica’s Foyer. I worked hard day and night to become the DA, Lost it all when my dead sister came back my way.

Ohh sure I made big bucks, but you know my love life sucks, Well I prosecute all my lovers what can I say. I prosecuted Erica for baby nappin’ made sure that she got more then a wrist slappin’ she served her time real well, then told me to go to hell but that’s what I told her when I caught her and Mike Roy nappin’ .

Now 20 years Erica and Jack been datin’ , 20 years Erica and Jack been matin’. Now she’s met a new guy named Cooney, You know she’s gonna get ….. (Kids were there, He couldn’t sing this line)

I’m proud to be a Pine Valley Lawyer, Makes me forget I got this troublesome daughter. I only work five hours a week, seems like I never have to sleep. So tell me why in the world would I ever leave Pine Valley?

Note: Thank you to Sara Hare at ‘Pine Valley News’ for transcribing this song so that the fans who could not attend could also enjoy it.  To watch / listen to the video of Walt singing ‘Pine Valley Lawyer’ go to:

Susan Lucci and Her Husband Discuss His Heart Condition,  Stroke Prevention

Susan Lucci With Husband Helmut Huber

For more than 40 years, Susan Lucci, 63, has played Pine Valley’s manipulative and fearless Erica Kane on “All My Children,” leading the soap opera star to act out some truly bizarre scenarios.

But, on rare day off 11 years ago, Lucci received a phone call from her husband, Helmut Huber, 73, that sent chills down her spine, a feeling her TV persona is not familiar with.

Huber had seen his doctor to have a minor shoulder procedure performed, when it was discovered he had atrial fibrillation (AFib), a type of irregular heartbeat that can increase a person’s chance of having a stroke by five times.

Lucci took a cue from her character and sprang into action, refusing to let his condition get the best of her or Huber, whom she married in 1969. The couple have two children, actress Liza Huber, 35, and golfer Andreas Huber, 30. Liza is also the mom of Lucci and Huber’s two grandsons, Royce, 3, and Brendan, 2.

In an effort to spread the word about AFib, which affects more than 2.3 million people, the couple recently launched the Facing AFib campaign. Lucci and Huber sat down with ParentDish to talk about the condition.

All My Children is honored to have 3 dresses from the show featured in the upcoming show ‘Wedded Perfection’ at the Cincinnati Art Museum. These beautiful dresses designed by David Zyla the Costume Designer, are those worn by Tamara Braun (Reese), Eden Riegel (Bianca) and Debbi Morgan (Angie).

Wedded Perfection:
Two Centuries of Wedding Gowns
October 9, 2010 – January 30, 2011

Wedded Perfection unravels more than 200 years of the evolution of the wedding gown paralleled with the social, economic and political status of the women they adorned.

Wedded Perfection features over 50 gowns from the late 18th-century to modern designers including Vera Wang, Yohji Yamamoto and Geoffrey Beene. Nineteenth-century economic expansion and the establishment of the bridal industry in the post-World War II era transformed the wedding gown from a symbol of purity to a vehicle for displaying wealth.

The exhibition will explore the 21st-century bride as the centerpiece of an elaborate theatrical presentation and her wedding gown as an integral part of the spectacle. Organized by the Museum’s Curator of Costumes and Textiles Cynthia Amneus.

J.R. Martinez:
New Face of Wounded Warrior
“Virtual Rehab” Program  First Time Ever Vintage AMC Photo’s
On sale for a limited time!

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (August 10, 2010)—J.R. Martinez—star of ABC’s Emmy Award-winning daytime drama “All My Children” and wounded warrior—has signed on to be the spokesperson of “Rehabbing with the Troops,” a virtual rehabilitation program sponsored by Armed Forces Insurance in which warriors wounded in combat work out via webcam with professional athletes using a Nintendo Wii.

“J.R. is an Army veteran and was severely injured in combat, so he knows exactly what these wounded warriors are going through,” said Col. Tom Dials (U.S. Army, Ret.), chairman of Armed Forces Insurance. “He fought hard to recover and went on to accomplish amazing things—we’re proud he’s decided to join the program.”

In 2003, Martinez suffered severe burns to more than 40 percent of his body while serving as an infantryman in Iraq. After a long and difficult recovery, he now travels all over the United States serving as a motivational speaker, sharing a message of resilience and optimism in the face of enormous challenges to veterans’ groups, schools, corporations and other organizations. Since late 2008, Martinez has played the role of Brot Monroe in ABC’s “All My Children.”

“This program is so important—it raises awareness of the challenges facing wounded warriors while giving each participant a source of motivation and a goal to work toward,” Martinez said. “I’m honored to be involved in it.”

Martinez will work out with the Season One wounded warriors and speak at the luncheon at the program’s finale event in New Orleans on August 21, where the troops will receive awards and view the New Orleans Saints pre-season home opening game at the Louisiana Superdome.

Rehabbing with the Troops—NFL Pros Help Wounded Warriors Recover
Since June 10, 22 wounded warriors have participated in weekly workouts as part of Season One of Rehabbing with the Troops, a 10-week rehabilitation program that was developed by Pro vs. G.I. Joe in partnership with the United Services Organizations (USO) and Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) and sponsored by Armed Forces Insurance (AFI, www.afi.org).

Season One of the program kicked off June 10, when the warriors traveled to the Wounded Warrior Project’s TRACK facility in Jacksonville, Fla., to work out interactively with the New Orleans Saints live via webcam. Wounded warriors and New Orleans Saints team members gathered in front of flat-screen televisions provided by Best Buy to perform exercises using a Nintendo Wii and webcam. Pro vs. GI Joe partnered with Wounded Warrior Project to develop custom workouts using specific exercises within the EA Sports Active title.

During Season One, each wounded warrior has participated in multiple rehabilitation sessions per week at home while documenting his journey on the Wounded Warrior Arena website (www.woundedwarriorarena.org), Twitter and Facebook. Season One is being filmed by two Iraq military journalist veterans, who will create a documentary series and upload it to the Wounded Warrior Arena website at the conclusion of Season One. The documentary is produced by Thomas Bramble, creator and producer of Pentagon TV program Freestyle Iraq.

I have confirmed this address with ABC.  A lot of you have questioned it because you know that AMC tapes at the Andrita Studios in Glendale.  If you mail something to the Glendale address or send a package to that address, this will only cause a delay in that person receiving it.  Whatever is sent to Glendale will then be forwarded to the Prospect address for processing and then returned to the Glendale address.

Pine Valley in the Key of Walt

If you weren’t lucky enough to attend the 6th Annual ABC Daytime Salutes Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS on March 21 in New York City, then you missed Walt Willey‘s (Jack, AMC) annual, original salute in song to the citizens of Pine Valley. Fortunately, Willey was kind enough to share the lyrics with Soap Opera Digest.

“The Key To Pine Valley”
By Walt Willey

If you had the key to Pine Valley
I wonder what you’d do?
What would our little town look like
When you were through?

Would you take the new people who’ve just come to town
And the ones you’ve known for all these years
Put them together in stories
Guaranteed to bring on laughter and tears

Would you take Brooke and give her back Tempo?
Pine Valley needs its magazine
Let her and Adam rediscover one another
Now that’s a scene

Maybe you’d want Dixie
To come back from the dead?
Or maybe just be a ghost?
Then she could take Dr. David straight to hell
And let him roast
